From Ron Cartlidge texashoudini@msn.com

THE WORLD FAMOUS AUSTIN MAGIC AUCTION TO BE HELD ON APRIL 14, 2012

April 13 (Friday night) We will once again have our Texas Magic Collectors meeting at the home of Dr. Stan Seaton.  April 14 (Saturday)  The auction doors will open at 8 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in downtown Austin.  April 15 (Sunday)  Texas Association of Magicians Board Meeting.

CO-CHAIRMEN FOR THIS YEAR'S AUSTIN MAGIC AUCTION

Our event has become so big that we now have two people that will be directing our event.  Ron Cartlidge continues for his 11th year as an auction chairman and Trixie Bond will be joining him as a co-chairman and perhaps taking over full responsibilites next year.  Trixie has had a successful run as the chairman of the Houston Magicians annual Christmas banquet.

FANTASIC AUCTIONEERS CONTINUE TO MAKE THIS EVENT WHAT IT IS!

Our three auctioneers who make this auction what it is return for another year.  Kent Cummins and Scott Wells will be back for another year.  They will be assisted by speed auctioneer Judy Donaldson.  David Hira will not be available this year, but will be replaced by some Celebrity Auctioneers, including Bill Palmer, Grant Walsh, Doug Gorman, Edward Boswell, and Peter the Adequate...plus perhaps a few surprises! Carl Seagren returns to head up the silent auction area and Will Mannis will return as stage auction manager.

2011 AUCTION HAD 185 IN ATTENDANCE!!!

A spectacular crowd attend our 2011 event with almost $25,000 in sales at the auction.  Between 30 and 40 sellers offered their magical items for sale from both the stage and the silent auction areas.  Over 1,500 items were listed "For Sale" at last year's auction.

COLLECTORS' MEETING LOOKING FOR SPEAKERS

With two speakers already lined up, we are looking for about three more to discuss interesting topics on the historical part of magic. Please contact Ron Cartlidge (texashoudin@msn.com) or Cluade Crowe in San Antonio.

CONSIGNMENTS ACCEPTED

We already have a number of items for the 2012 Austin Magic Auction, but we are looking for more.  A number of former sellers have indicated that they will return for the 2012 auction and we have already heard from a couple of newcomers who are interested in selling their magic in this year's auction.  All items will be stored at Kent Cummins warehouse for this auction.  Items must be in before April 1, 2012.  A 12% consignment fee is paid to assembly 206, but ONLY if your item sells.  You may place a minimum bid on your item.  Please reply to this email for a sellers' number.  We limit sellers to 100 items.  Buyers have no limit and there is NO buyers' fee.  $10 admission to the best show in town.
