APPLICATION PROCESS

A person with a viable interest in the art of MAGIC may seek membership in The Fort Worth Magicians Club by filling out an application form (can be downloaded below and filled-out on your computer before printing) and deliver it with the proper dues to the club's Secretary. If the form is filled-out by handwriting, the form should be printed clearly. Incomplete or illegible applications must be rejected. Cash, checks, and money orders made payable to The Fort Worth Magicians Club are accepted. A second copy of the filled-out application form should be made if a receipt is needed.

All applications must be signed and recommended by at least two Active Members of the club who are in good standing. The two sponsors are responsible to motivate the applicant to perform a Qualification Demonstration of his or her interest in magic at a  monthly meeting to be designated by the Executive Committee, within three months of the submission of the application and as designated by the club's Constitution and Bylaws.

Note that submitting an application and dues does not automatically grant membership status. After an applicant does his Qualification Demonstration, the club will vote on the applicant's membership and pending that approval, the applicant will be given his name badge and be granted membership. Monies paid will be returned only in the event that the club votes to deny an applicant's membership application. The signature of the applicant for membership shall be a pledge of his/her agreement to support the Constitution and Bylaws and the Code of Ethics of this organization and any amendments made hereafter.

MEMBERSHIP IN NATIONAL MAGIC ORGANIZATIONS

As a independent non-profit corporation, The Fort Worth Magicians Club, Inc does not require members to also be members of other magic organizations. However the club does recommend membership in one or more of the national or international magic organizations such as the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Society of American Magicians, Texas Association of Magicians, The Magic Circle, The Psychic Entertainers Association, Fellowship of Christian Magicians and so forth. The benefit of joining such organizations is immense.

Note that The Fort Worth Magicians Club, Inc meets concurrently with the Ren Clark IBM Ring 15 of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Bruce Chadwick SAM Assembly 138 of the Society of American Magicians.

When the Ring meets only under the Ren Clark IBM Ring 15 title or engages any activity, particularly business related matters of the IBM, only invited guests and members in good standing with the International Brotherhood of Magicians national organization may participate. Only dues-paid-up members of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and Ren Clark IBM Ring 15 may vote in business matters.

In the same way, when the Bruce Chadwick SAM Assembly 138 of the Society of American Magicians meets only under the Bruce Chadwick SAM Assembly 138 title or engages any activity, particularly business related matters of the SAM, only invited guests and members in good standing with the Society of American Magicians national organization may participate. Only dues-paid-up members in the Society of American Magicians and Bruce Chadwick SAM Assembly 138 may vote in business matters.

SUBMISSION OF DUES WITH A NEW MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION

Dues are payable in advance, on or before October 1st of each year. According to the club's BYLAWS, the amount of dues that new members must pay is pro-rated on a semi-annual basis. In other words if a person submits an application during the months of October through March, dues are $20. If a person submits an application during the months of April through September, dues are $10. All dues and applications should be submitted to the club's SECRETARY (not the Treasurer) so that information will be properly recorded. It is the SECRETARY'S responsibility to then transfer money to the TREASURER.

A person seeking membership in the Fort Worth Magicians Club should download an application form, fill it out completely, and submit it along with the proper dues amount (in the form of cash, check, or money order made out to The Fort Worth Magicians Club, Inc) to the Secretary at any OPEN club meeting or mail it to:
